Lootify is a simple library that allows creators to add custom drops to existing loot tables in the game! Added drops are defined by the exact same loot table .json files that Minecraft's normal loot tables are defined with, making setup easy as pie.
For multiplayer worlds, Lootify only needs to be installed on the server.
For information on how to setup a minecraft loot table, check out the Minecraft Wiki page covering them. I also plan on writing my own guide at some point.
To add loot to lootify, simply add loot to the lootify_tables
folder, rather than the loot_tables
one. Use the same namespace, subfolders, and file names as used with the existing table.
Loot added this way is completely compatible with loot viewers like EMI Loot, as the added loot pools are directly added to the games base table.
Pros:
- Utilizes the existing loot table system!
- Compatible with loot viewers
- Extremely lightweight. No dependencies besides fabric itself.
- Datapack driven, no plugins or code-writing needed!
Potential Planned Features:
- A visual loot table builder that assists mod or datapack creators in the creation of loot tables.
- Ability to remove or modify existing pools.
- Custom functions and conditions for even more nuanced drops.
Lootify is in beta! Please expect features to change and be added as development continues.
This mod is for Fabric and Quilt. A Forge port is not planned at this time.
